He has a Ph.D. in Economics from Texas A&M University. His work experience includes serving as economist at Korea Institute for International Economic Policy; research fellow at Hyundai Research Institute and Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Evaluation and Planning; associate editor at the Journal of Korea Economic Analysis; and advisor to the Monetary Policy Advisory Group (KOB) and to the Presidential Transition Committee.
