Improving access to water and sanitation requires not just investing in infrastructure but also policies that ensure the sustainability of services.
Tiago Ribeiro is an urban development specialist in the Pacific department of ADB. Prior to joining ADB, he worked for 12 years at a water utility and was responsible for providing water services to eight million people. He also worked in several small island states developing water supply, sanitation, and solid waste management services. He has a master’s in Hydraulics and Water Resources from the University of Coimbra, Portugal and an MBA from Cranfield University, UK.
