Priyantha Wijayatunga has contributed to energy sector policy and regulatory activities for over 30 years and has co-authored over 100 publications. He was the founder Director General of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka, lead author of the Sri Lanka Energy Policies and Strategies and Initial National Communication on Climate Change, and was an Advisory Board member of the Melbourne Energy Institute. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from Sri Lanka and a PhD in Power Economics from Imperial College London.
