Francesco Tornieri is ADB’s focal point for gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) in South Asia. He has over 20 years of experience in the area of social development, focusing on gender equality, women’s empowerment, and social inclusion in Sub-Saharan West, Central, and East Africa, and the Asia–Pacific region. He recently led the finalization of the GESI Framework for South Asia. Prior to ADB, he worked as social development specialist at the Africa Region of the World Bank.
