His research areas are financial economics (financial policy), regulations, markets and institutions, macro-monetary economics, and pensions and public funds. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, and his M.A. and Ph. D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota. He has held top positions in the public and private sectors in the Republic of Korea, including Director General for Public Funds System of the Ministry of Planning and Budget.
