Kim specializes in applied microeconomics, contract theory, and banking. His research interests include financial law, policy finance, and SME financing. He is a member of the Financial Development Deliberative Committee at the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), vice chairman of the Korean Banking and Financial Law Association, and an advisory member of the Unfair Contract Examination Committee of the Korean Fair Trade Commission. He graduated from Seoul National University and holds a PhD in Economics from Tokyo University.
